Ms. Little received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Western Piedmont Community College in 1986.  She was employed by Blue Ridge Health Care for 20 years where she served as a labor and delivery nurse and perinatal educator. Ms. Little has been a certified childbirth educator since 1986, through Birth and Beginnings Education (BABE), as well as the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) since 1987. She has been a certified birth doula through Doulas of North America (DONA) and ICEA since 1987. She was the North Carolina State Representative for DONA from 2000-2004, and conducted numerous presentations about doulas across North Carolina. In 1989, Ms. Little was certified as a postpartum educator through ICEA. In 1998, she was certified as an International Approved Trainer (IAT) for childbirth education and birth doula trainings for ICEA. She has presented at the ICEA annual convention and instructed the birth doula course during the convention. In 2008, Ms. Little served as the Nursing Director for Handi-Care, an area home care agency for five years.  She was certified as an instructor by OSHA for bloodborne pathogens and HIPAA in 2010. She joined the Family Infant and Preschool Program in 2013.
