Mrs. Norton is a dual licensed speech-language pathologist through both the North Carolina Board of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and the New York State Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. She also holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Mrs. Norton received her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications: Sciences and Disorders from St. Joseph’s College in New York. She also earned her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Long Island University along with her certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) for New York State. Mrs. Norton has worked in the private practice, home based, preschool and community settings in both NY and NC, with children ranging from infants to 18 years of age. She has experience and high interest in a variety of areas within her scope of practice including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, Down Syndrome, speech sound disorders, expressive/receptive language delays, motor planning and feeding difficulties. Mrs. Norton has experience working alongside a variety of other healthcare and education professionals. She has found that this collaborative approach to intervention has helped her learn and grow in her knowledge and expertise. She believes collaboration among disciplines is key to supporting families, maximizing the services they receive, and helps caregivers gain confidence in supporting their children with new and emerging skills. In her free time, Mrs. Norton enjoys cooking, hiking, and paddle boarding with her dog and husband in the beautiful mountains near her home.
