Tanya Thomas received her Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family Relations with a double minor in Psychology and Communication Sciences from East Carolina University in 1992.  In 2005, she went back to college and earned her Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Prior to joining FIPP in June of 2016, Tanya was employed by the Alamance-Burlington school system and worked with children ages 3 to 21 with various communication challenges related to autism spectrum-based diagnoses, hearing impairments, phonological processes, articulation, and language delays. Her practice areas of expertise include receptive/expressive language development, speech sound development, and supporting individuals with hearing impairments.
